Frames
-Extreme Long Shot- Contains large amount of landscape (often used at the beginning of a film to establish location)

-Two shot- Head to toe of characters, viewer takes in costume, develop opinion; also demonstrates relationship between them

-Mid shot- Waist up (waist down) for more detail (facial expressions)

-Close up- One face- understand character's emotion

-Extreme close up- part of a character's face- intense mood- character interaction

Photographic Techniques
Used to create visually stimulating scenes and to show emphasis on specific objects and people.
- Positioning of characters
-Leading lines- the lines your eyes are drawn to in a shot

-Depth of field- The range of distance from the camera that all the objects are in focus. Objects outside this line appear blurred.
-Rule of thirds
-Viewpoint
-Framing
-Balance- Can be shifted by placing main subject off centre- to create interest, may feel empty

Camera Movement
-Pan - Horizontal scan
-Tilt- Vertical scan
Tracking- Camera on moving vehicle

-Handheld- Realistic, makes audience feel part of it

-Zoom- Changes the position of the audience, creates dramatic effect
-Aerial shot- Similar to extreme long shot but camera moves within it
